Randall Ritchey: Steen Leads Blues Past Bolts
Alexander Steen was the number one star tonight, and there was no question about it. The Blues were able to beat Ben Bishop tonight, and they gain ground on the first place Nashville Predators. |

Nice blog! Jaskin is really coming on strong. i wouldnt be surprised to see him score 20 next year! it is going to be tough for Rattie and Fabrie to make the team next year at this rate. |

I guess we're stuck with you now that your other two teams are going to miss the playoffs. Isn't there another front office out there that piques your interest? Perhaps in the Canadian Football League? |

Obviously Joakim Lindstrom turned down an interview request by our esteemed sometime-blogger at some point. Or maybe refused to sign his dog's sweater or something.
I love the I HATE LINDSTROM Epilogue at the end of every piece. It's the only part I read.
The Power of the Press - Randall. Careful. With great power comes great responsibility. You may need him for a follow up interview in about 12 years. |

With Porter set to return soon I can see the blues trying to trade Lindstrom for like a 6th round pick
I wish I had watched this game last night as I had the opportunity.

Yeah, I don't get it. Lindstrom isn't even dressing. He makes $700k. There isn't any reason to harp on this guy. He isn't good enough for this team. Move on Randall. |

The one thing I really took out of last night's game as a reminder for myself anyway, is that when everyone is healthy, the Blues can roll three deadly scoring lines.
I don't think they've ever possessed this before. Everyone being healthy come playoff time is going to be a real key.
PS - I think Stamkos figured out that Backes is a pretty good defensive forward. |

Could we get a 6th rounder for him? He adds nothing to a playoff bound team and everyone knows they can sign him for salary on july 1st. May as well place him on waivers and see if any takers. I would rather have Paajarvi being a healthy scratch and fill in if needed. |

Got a 6th for Dags about the same level of usefulness these days |

You're right. I guess a team might take him on to see if they want him for next year and have negotiating rights.
Forgot we traded Dags in the same situation. But i honestly think Dags had more of an upside. |

Steener had a couple of BEAUTIES to set up our first two goals. That game was very refreshing to watch after the way we have played lately.
Jaskin seems to have found a new level of confidence with his play. The way he has showed up lately has really made our top 9 potent.
I have to say that I do not really have a problem with what Stastny has done this year. He is on pace to finish with 45-50pts and have 18ish goals. Not far off of his numbers last year in Colorado where he was getting more playing time and (I assume) more PP time. And this is all after transitioning to a new team and missing a little time to injury at the beginning of the year. He probably could be centering our 1st line and finish with 60+ points but why mess with a good thing? |

The Kings are going to miss the playoffs?
Haha! It's mid February and they are 3 points out of a playoff spot.

I'm not going to worry a whole lot about what Stastny's final numbers end up being as long as he's trending in the right direction and playing his best hockey come playoff time.
He got off to a slow start, got hurt early, has been on a third line with questionable quality at times. He's had a lot to get used to.
If it pays off in the long run, that's the reason he's here.

I a glad the Predators continue to play the heck out of Rinne. That guy will be worn out about the time of the play offs. Have the Preds ever even won a play off series? |

I am with you. I enjoy seeing this team put up numbers but their play is the big thing. I have seen some great Blues teams but never one with as much depth and skill.
Trust in Jarmo thinks the Kings will make the play offs . Three points back and three teams back. |
